Second Marriage   

Whatever the reason a second marriage is a second chance of happiness and love with another partner.   Your special day is a reason to celebrate with family and friends the beginning of your new life together and planning your wedding for the second time can be just as exciting as the first.

To marry for the second time you will need to supply documentation to prove you are entitled to marry in the form of a decree absolute or the death certificate of your previous partner.  Religions vary in their attitude to second marriages and you will need to approach your intended celebrant prior to making any firm plans.  Many couples chose a civil ceremony followed by a blessing.  Second marriages are very common these days and many ministers are understanding of this fact and able to find a suitable solution.

Second Marriage - Children

There is a good chance that one or both of you will have children from your previous relationships and it’s important for everybody concerned that the children are taken into consideration when you are planning to get married again.

How you tell your children depends on your circumstances but it may be a good idea to have your previous partner there when you tell them of the forthcoming marriage.  It is important to most couples to have the approval and acceptance of everyone regarding marrying again.
