Overseas Weddings
Instead of marrying in a traditional church setting at home, more and more couples are choosing to marry
abroad. With the amount of exotic destinations now available,it is not surprising that one in ten
couples decide to marry abroad.
The idea of
flying
off to a place you have always dreamed of visiting and
having most of the organisation done for you is certainly tempting for many couples.
 |
As well as providing a more unusual setting than a wedding at home,
marrying abroad is approximately a third of the cost of the average UK wedding which is now thought
to cost over £17,000.
Wedding ceremonies abroad vary considerably from country to country and many are very similar to
the civil ceremony in the UK.
As long as they comply with UK laws marriages abroad are fully recognised back home and do not need
to be registered on
your return.
|
Although overseas ceremonies are usually non-religious it is possible to organise a religious
ceremony.
